Extinction ratio tester
POLARIZATION EXTINCTION RATIO METER
The optical polarization extinction ratio meter allows for a rapid measurement of the output extinction ratio of light from an optical fiber. The extinction ratio and transmission axis orientation of a rotating polarizer are crucial on the connector. As an option, a neutral density filter can be added to the extinction ratio meter to extend the maximum power range. These filters can be easily inserted and removed without affecting your settings. These filters allow power measurement up to 2 watts. The instrument operates in several modes. In real-time mode, the extinction ratio meter provides extinction ratio and collimation. In recording mode, the extinction ratio is calculated as the worst-case extinction ratio over a given time span. This mode is an ideal QA measurement.
